Cherry blossoms are back in Door County, Wisconsin! The orchards are waking up from winter in a beautiful way. The cherry trees (and apple trees) are blossoming as they always do. From Sturgeon Bay to Fish Creek to Sister Bay all the way to Ellison Bay, the sea of white flowers in the orchards are a sight to see.
The best way to see them is to simply drive along Highway 42 along the bay of Green Bay. The road from Sturgeon Bay to Ellison Bay will take you past many, many orchards that will be in bloom the weekend of May 18-22. I would guess that the peak blossoms will be around May 22 or so. But they look good right now too (May 18th as I type this).
I went out among some of the orchards near Sturgeon Bay last night. Tt was already quite beautiful with many cherry blossoms yet to bloom. Here are a couple shots I took.
