Winter arrived in Door County, Wisconsin. First of all, winter in Door County arrives every year so this wasn’t a big surprise. The surprise was that winter showed up during October, better yet, during October fall colors! That means we has snowy fall colors this year!
I was a but underwhelmed with this year’s fall colors. I don;t know if it’s all the rain we’ve been experiencing or the fact that I have been too busy to focus on much landscape photography. However, when we woke up of October 30 to about an inch of snow, my feelings changed. The snowy fall colors were absolutely beautiful and I had to grab a few shots of the scenery.
I headed in to Potawatomi State Park in Sturgeon Bay and took a quick drive through the park. I made many stops along the way to take some photos of the snowy fall colors lining the roads and trails. The best view came at the Old Ski Hill where you could look out from the vista and see snowy fall colors as far as the eye could see.
If I had more time I would have taken a walk through the woods but I’ll take what I can get. 🙂
Here are some of my favorite photos of the snowy fall colors in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin.
